Critical Mass, a spaceship shooter game, puts you in charge of a squadron, to lead challenging missions in the outer space. As a commander, your task will be to guide and control your spaceships in different missions. These are so numerous and varied that you may find yourself in such diverse tasks as defending the Earth from an enemy attack, destroying an hostile starbase, or attacking a whormhole.
Playing Critical Mass is very easy, and the gameplay will surely appeal to all fans of this genre. To fight your enemies, there are six types of missiles you can use, and with the mouse you can control the direction of your ship, guiding it with the white arrow.
At the end of a mission, depending on how was successful it was, you will be awarded medals and credits to build up your squadron and buy extra ships. There is a good variety of ships to choose from, and there is even a cool option that allows you to create your own ship design. Another noteworthy feature gives you the chance of creating missions, allowing you to configure lots of details.
On the other hand, the graphics and sound effects are rather basic, compared with other games of this type. |
